2nd birthday party

party was a hit.  homegirl had A BLAST.  The place was packed.  a good time was had by all.

Party was a dog theme.  ill let the pics speak for themselves.

Pretty sure everyone had a great time.  Big thanks to my MIL Betsy for letting us take over her house for the weekend.

I blew up about 30 balloons and threw them all in her room this morning for her to find when she woke up.

$35 makeover

I was able to squeeze in a trip to IKEA this weekend.  I love that friggin place.
Among my fab finds, I snagged this rug for 19 bucks.  can you even believe it.  19 bucks. I also got 2 of these pillow covers.  7 bucks a pop.  I already had pillows that would fit inside too.  score

 my baby turns 2 in less than a week,  so no house projects will be going on on the blog lately- just mushy pics and videos of my lil baby.

Im in party planning mode for her big bday party this weekend...speaking of party planning... i attempted to make these yarn lanterns everyone is all a buzz over. WTH,  these suckers are NOT easy.  everyone makes it seem like some simple little craft project. They are hard, super messy, and an overall pain the ass.

 But they are oh so cute when they are all finished....its something a little niftier than the good ol paper lantern or pompom. but a lot more work...

sadly there were a few casualties...and a lot of cussing...

i think i will torture myself and make a few more before saturday...

thrift store find

30 bucks...solid wood too.  very heavy.  i totally scored. (TWSS)

i have been looking for exactly this piece for a while now.  after we transformed the office into the playroom, we lost the desk and storage and command center.  i wanted something small, something old, something i could paint.
my mom haggled the guy down to 30 bucks.  Thanks mom!!

some new knobbies and a coat of paint, this guys will be ready to roll...i just have to decide what color...

deep thoughts...

we have been enjoying some down time lately. I have been busy getting everything ready for LAs 2nd birthday party next weekend. and I have also been trying to get her room finished. its almost there...Pics to come shortly.
Homegirl let me curl her hair this morning.  it was a pretty big deal...for me anyway

Also we are getting prepared for our next project which will be the floors in our bedroom. ripping up the carpet and laying hardwood. the hardest part of this will be moving everything out of our bedroom, and living in the guest room for a couple weeks.  The hardest part of that will be me having to clean my bedroom and the guest room to help things move smoothly. im dreading it already. but wood needs to be laid in here (TWSS)

Its 60 and sunny here today.  in January, thats insane.  im loving it.
